About Jess

Jess Rocco is a photographer, visual storyteller, and creative director whose work spans continents, cultures, and communities. With a background in both media and real estate, Jess brings a grounded, intuitive approach to her photography—balancing instinct with intention, and artistry with real-life moments.

Whether documenting Mardi Gras Indians in New Orleans, street celebrations in Valencia, or quiet rituals in the Andean highlands, Jess’s work is rooted in connection. She’s drawn to people, place, and the beauty of everyday life—capturing stories that often go unseen, but never unnoticed.

Her series Los Pueblos Andinos was recognized as an Official Selection in the 2024 International Photography Awards. Her interiors work has been featured by brands like Anthropologie Europe, Lomography, and Window World, and her series After the First will be on display this June and July at the Boulier Gallery in New Orleans, as part of a group show centered on the city’s historic snowfall.

Originally from New Jersey, Jess has spent over a decade photographing across the U.S. and abroad. She works in both digital and analog formats, and credits learning on 35mm film with helping her understand light and slow down behind the lens.

These days, her work spans documentary projects, interiors, and travel and street photography—always with an eye for honest moments and a strong sense of place.
